Connecting Communities: Greater Manchester Volunteer Conference Success!
On 18th March 2025, the Greater Manchester Volunteer Conference brought together 12 organisations and 54 attendees for a day of networking, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration. The event provided a dynamic space for organisations to explore best practices, build new partnerships, and strengthen the impact of volunteering across the region.
Through engaging workshops, discussions, and interactive sessions, organisations shared insights on volunteer management, creative engagement, and overcoming sector challenges. Highlights included:
• Personal volunteer stories, showcasing the life-changing impact of volunteering.
• Talks on the impact on volunteering and how they are vital for service provision and community cohesion.
• Workshops on volunteer recruitment, skills development, and networking strategies.
• A collaborative “Top Trumps” networking activity, resulting in a map of volunteer organisations across Greater Manchester.
Key outcomes:
New partnerships formed between organisations.
Strong interest in cross-borough volunteer swaps, joint training, and shared resources.
Positive feedback on the conference’s friendly and inclusive atmosphere.
Attendees rated the event highly, praising its interactive approach and welcoming environment. As one participant put it:
