Venue: Tameside Active Wellness Centre: 15 October –

We included a Makaton session and showcased Tameside Arts to various organisation and the public.

The ‘Sing and Sign’ facilitator and clients demonstrated their skills to over 100 people.

JF said – “ It was good to be in a different area. We taught people new songs and got everyone up on their feet. I was nervous at first but when we got going, I was alright.”

TZ – “I sometimes don’t like to perform because there are too many people, but this was good and I want to do it again.”

MH – “ I love performing. It felt good, exciting with people around me that I knew. We could do more make-up and costumes for future performances. Some of the audience joined in and that made me happy.”

KW – “Brilliant! I enjoyed all the songs and Sapphire was my favourite.”

Ula – “Uplifting atmosphere. Seeing the members proud to perform and expressing themselves was amazing to witness. The audience were very interested too.”

Micky – “I am so proud of what we do. To see our clients perform in public is amazing. We practice Makaton to help with communication skills and have so much fun dancing, singing and signing. We love to provide entertainment to an audience when everyone joins in and love to share the skills. We will continue to grow and share.”

On Tuesday 16th December, we visited Thorncliffe Grance Care Home.

Here are some of the photos from our clients leading the days entertainment.

On Tuesday 13th January 2026, we visited Guide Lane Care Home.

Amazing feedback: We had a joyful day at Guide Lane today. We had a very special visit from TAL service users who delivered us an afternoon of African drumming. Our residents loved it, thank you. Please come again! Xx

 Venue: The Create Centre –

African drumming delivered by professional musician, to clients twice weekly. Volunteers help support the delivery of the one-hour activity in which clients develop skills which will enable them to perform for an audience.
